Subject: Extension of service
of Outstanding Scientists, beyond superannuation under Fundamental Rules- FR
56(d).
Attention of all Ministries/Departments is invited
to the extant orders on the above subject contained in FR-56 (d) as amended
vide Fundamental (Amendment) Rules, 2002 which provides for extension in
service to specialists in medical or scientific fields beyond the normal date
of superannuation.
2. It has been observed that
Ministries/Departments often submit proposals late to the Establishment
Division of the DOPT for consideration by the Committee under the Chairmanship
of the Cabinet Secretary, as a result of which submission of cases, for
consideration of the ACC also gets delayed.
3. After careful consideration of the
matter, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has now directed that all
proposals for extension of service of specialists in medical or scientific
fields, beyond the normal date of superannuation, should be submitted, two
months in advance of the date of superannuation, in future.
4. The above directions of the ACC, are
therefore, brought to the notice of all Ministries/Departments for information
and compliance.
