Subject : Training of Gr ‘D’ Employees of Departmental Canteen _ Nominations from Ministries/Deptts. – Regarding.
The undersigned is directed to say that the 6th Central Pay Commission has recommended that all the posts of canteen staff in Group ‘D’ category will be placed in the revised Pay Band-I along with grade pay of Rs. 1800 once the staff occupying these posts is suitably retrained and made multi-skilled. In view of the observations and recommendations by the 6th CPC, the Government is considering the training for the Group ‘D’ staff working in the canteen and who are to be retrained and multi-skilled before they are granted the revised PB-I along with the grade pay of Rs. 1800. The process has to be completed within 6th months and after completing the training the concerned staff will be granted grade pay of PB-I.
2. The matter is being examined in detail in consultation with the Training Division of this Department and Ministry of Tourism. As soon as a final decision is taken, the employees will be deputed for training. Ministries/Deptts are therefore, requested to give the details of the Group ‘D’ employees who do not possess the essential qualifications as per the RR and are required to be deputed for training. Two proforma i.e. I & II have been designed and enclosed alongwith the O.M. and Ministries/Deptts. are requested to give details (i) for Delhi/New Delhi offices and other (ii) for outside Delhi/New Delhi offices. The Ministries/Deptts. are also requested to compile the information including their attached and subordinate offices and submit the consolidated information to this office.
The information called for may be submitted as early as possible but not later than 10th November, 2008 positively.
