Sub: Cadre Structure of Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service (CSSS) – upgradation of posts of Steno. Grade ‘A’ & ‘B’ (Merged) (PS) to the level of Principal Private Secretary (PPS) of CSSS-reg.
The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Order of even number dated 18/19.7.2005, inter alia, fixing the cadre strength of Sr. PPS, PPS & Steno. Grade‘A’ & ‘B’ (Merged) (PS) of CSSS as 68, 130 & 1650 respectively.
2. In order to maintain parity in the total number of posts of Senior PPS and PPS of CSSS with that of the total number of posts of Secretary/Addl. Secretary level Officers (who are provided secretarial/stenographic assistance by the members of CSSS), the Government has also decided to appropriately adjust the total number of posts of PPS through upgradation/downgradation of posts of PS/PPS.
3. Accordingly, 52 (fifty two) posts of Steno. Grade ‘A’ & ‘B’ (Merged) (P.S) (Rs.6500-10500) are hereby upgraded to the level of PPS (Rs.10000-15200) of CSSS with immediate effect. Consequently, the number of posts in Steno. Grade ‘A’ & ‘B’ (Merged) (PS) would be reduced to 1598 from 1650 and the number of posts of PPS would be increased to 182 from 130. Cadre-wise allocation of these posts is being done separately.
4. In order to maintain parity in the total number of posts of Senior PPS and PPS of CSSS with that of the number of posts of Secretary/Addl. Secretary level Officers, in future, cadre authorities are requested to ensure that whenever there is any change in the number of post(s) of Secretary/Addl. Secretary/equivalent in their respective cadre units, this Department may please be informed immediately to enable it to make appropriate adjustments in the number of post(s)of PPS.
