OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Sub: Scheme for
Staffing of posts of Desk Officer.
Reference
this Department’s OM No.12/1/75-CS.I dated 01.04.1976 relating to clarification
in the matter of staffing of officers at the level of Desk Officer in various
Ministries.
2. A question has arisen regarding the
minimum eligibility service required for a Section Officer to be considered for
appointment as Desk Officer. The matter has been examined in this Department
and it is clarified that a minimum two years’ eligibility service as Section
Officer will be necessary for consideration for appointment as Desk Officer.
However, a promotee Section Officer, through LDCE, may also be considered for
the post of Desk Officer, provided he has rendered 8 years of service as
Assistant/Stenographer Grade ‘C’ plus the service, as Section Officer put
together.
3. The
above instructions shall come into effect from the date of issue of this Office
Memorandum Past cases, etc. will not be reopened.
