The undersigned is directed to refer to the instructions contained in para 12 of this Department’s O.M.No. 8/3/92-CS.II dated 14.1.1994 on the subject mentioned above and to say that the matter regarding appointment of staff on the personal staff of Ministers in relaxation of the upper age limit and educational qualifications including typing and shorthand speed for the corresponding posts have been reviewed in this Department and the decisions taken in this regard with the approval of the Prime Minister, are as under:-

(i)Proposals regarding appointments of staff on the personal staff of the Ministers in relaxation of the upper age limit will require the approval of the Prime Minister through this Department;

(ii) There will be no relaxation in the educational and skill qualifications for the personal staff of Ministers.

2.Ministry of Finance etc. are requested to keep the above guidelines in view while making appointments on the personal staff of Ministers.
