The undersigned is directed to invite a reference to this Department’s O.M. No. 8/5/85-CS.II dated 4.4.1985 and O.M. of even number dated 19.12.89 which stipulate that appointments to the posts of Private Secretary to Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State will be at the level of Deputy Secretary/Director and that of Deputy Ministers will be at the level of Under Secretary It has now been decided that henceforth all members of the Council of Ministers may be allowed Private Secretaries of the same rank, that is, Deputy Secretary/Director.

2. With the issue of these orders, the entitlement and pay scale of Private Secretary to Deputy Ministers as shown in the Annexure to the O.M.No. 8/5/85-CS.II dated 4.4.1985 will mutatis mutandis stand modified to that extent.

3. These orders will take immediate effect.
