Subject:- Admissibility of Non-Functional pay scale of Rs. 8000-13500 in respect of Section Officers of CSS - clarifications regarding fixation of pay.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Department’s Order of even number dated 25^th January, 2006 on the subject mentioned above and to say that references have been received with regard to pay fixation of those Section Officers of CSS who have already completed 4 years of approved service in the grade as on 01.01.1996 or prior to this date directly in the pay scale of Rs. 8000-13500 in accordance with CCS (RP ) Rules, 1997 as has been allowed in case of Officers of DANICS/DANIPS. The issue has been considered in consultation with Ministry of Finance (Deptt. of Expenditure ) and it has been decided that all Section Officers of CSS who had completed approved service of 4 years or more in the grade on 01.01.1996 will be eligible for being placed directly in the scale of Rs.8000-13500 in accordance with CCS (RP) Rules, 1997 notionally w.e.f. 01.01.1996. However, the actual financial benefits will be available only w.e.f 03.10.2003.

All such Section Officers may be allowed to exercise fresh option if they so desire.
