Sub: Filling up of the vacancies by direct
recruitment in the Central Secretariat Service (CSS)/Central Secretariat
Stenographers Service (CSSS)/Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS).

The undersigned is directed to refer
to this Department’s O.M.No.2/8/2001-PIC dated 16th May, 2001
regarding “optimisation of direct recruitment to civilian posts” and to
say that inquiries are being received from various Ministries whether any cut,
etc. has to be imposed in respect of the vacancies to be filled up on the basis
of various examinations in the three Central Services, i.e. CSS/CSSS/CSCS. In this connection, it is hereby clarified
that provisions in the above referred O.M. will equally apply to the above
mentioned services.

The above position is brought to the notice of all the cadre
controlling authorities in respect of CSS/CSSS/CSCS with the request that
vacancies to be filled up during 2000-2001 onwards may kindly be reviewed and
revised in the light of O.M. dated 16th May, 2001 referred above,
and the same may please be intimated expeditiously to this Department. While sending the revised vacancy position,
it may be certified that the provisions contained in O.M. No.2/8/2001-PIC dated
16th May, 2001 have been correctly applied.

No.A-12026/1/2000-CAS dated 30th April, 2001.
