Subject:- Fixation of pay of the officers of Selection Grade
(Deputy Secretary ) of CSS, included in the Select List, 1998.
The
Select List of Grade-I of CSS for the year 1998 has since been issued, vide
this Department’s O.M. No.4/26/2005-CS.I dated 1.9.2006. Lists of officers who
have been considered fit for inclusion in CSS Selection Grade Select Lists for
the year 1998 but have since retired on attaining the age of superannuation or
otherwise, have also been issued vide this Department’s O.M. No.4/26/2005-CS.I
(ii) dated 1.9.2006.
2. The pay of such officers may be fixed
w.e.f. 1st July of 1998 on notional basis. The actual financial
benefits, however, would be available only from the date,
the officers are/were so appointed to the post of Deputy Secretary.
3. All Administrative Ministries/Departments
are requested to notify the appointments of the officers on a regular basis
w.e.f. 1st July of 1998 and take action regarding fixation of pay in
respect of officers working under them. The appointment of those officers who
retired on superannuation or otherwise as Under Secretary without getting
promotion to the CSS Selection Grade (Deputy Secretary) shall not be notified
as promotions can take place prospectively and retired persons would not be
available to avail of the actual promotion from a prospective date.
